My name is Josh, son of David Geffre, Founder/Owner of ITDL. I have been involved in the dental field my entire life being the son of a dental lab owner. It wasn't until 2015 that I decided to work in it. Our work is gratifying, knowing that every day we are changing people’s lives one case at a time. When I am not working at the lab, I enjoy working out, hunting, traveling, hanging outdoors, and spending time with my wife and our son Finn.

Guided Dental Implants

A Look into Guided Surgeries

We are blessed to live in a day of age where we have the dental technology we do. Thanks to that technology, our oral hygiene has been better than ever, But why the rise of implants then? Just because we have great technology within the dental field doesn’t mean that everyone’s oral health is perfect. That issue can vary depending on which part of the country you live in.

There is a list of reasons why someone may need a dental implant. They may have periodontal disease or gum tissue resorption, leading to bone loss over time. It could also very well be from a failed implant from years prior. We could go on with different examples, but with the technology we have today, we can create a precise treatment plan that will guarantee long-term success for your patients wanting dental implants.

With guided dental surgeries for both single or multiple tooth surgeries, we can guarantee accurate placement of the implants because there is no guesswork with guided surgeries. We verify the implant sights in our digital CAD-CAM software using your CBTC scans to complete the procedure faster, allowing patients to start the healing process sooner. Our CAD-CAM technology allows you, the dentist, to have a complete picture of the patient’s mouth and accurately pick the exact placement of their dental implants. We can make sure we are drilling into enough bone by verifying the thickness in the placement site. There are some drawbacks to dental implants too. For instance, the patient may need bone grafting for a successful surgery. They may also need tissue grafting. Every surgical procedure is different, but we can know if additional grafting is required to support the implant before placement with advanced imaging technology.

We can fabricate several different surgical guides depending on what is needed for that case. Whether it is a regular surgical guide with one or multiple surgical sites, bone reduction guides, bone supported guides, or stackable guides with an immediate temporary; so, your patient is going home with teeth on the day of surgery.

ITDL has been a Real Guide Empowered lab for some time, working with doctors around the country. We are also proud to announce we are becoming an Implant Direct Partner Laboratory, allowing us to hold a handful of implant parts at our dental laboratory to get your implant cases back to you faster! We all know how hectic our shipping industry is right now, so it’s not guaranteed what implant parts we order will arrive on time, leading to rescheduled appointment times, which no one wants! We hope that by stocking some implant parts at ITDL, we can give you and your patients ease of mind knowing your case will be there on time.

If you want more information about Guided Surgeries, don’t hesitate to contact us. ITDL has the best CAD-CAM software, milling machines, and 3D printers to enhance the quality of your implant surgery procedures. If you would like to start using guided surgeries at your practice or have questions about how to get started, we are here to help!

Kois Center: 165 Functional Occlusion and Treatment Planning

A moment with David.

As many of our accounts know, I am finally going through the Kois Center for c.e. This was my first time attending the Kois Center in Seattle for Continuing education. This has been a course I have been wanting to attend for some time now. That time finally came last week (11-29-12/3). It was honestly one of my most enjoyed weeks of continuing ed. This course brought our class threw a system of diagnostics and taught us how to look at photo bits, casts, and medical history- All to help learn and predict long term capabilities.

We were taught how to open the bite the correct amount. How to use the Kois Facial Reference Glasses correctly- mounting bites with the Kois reference Analyzer.

Why Deprograming? How long can it take to deprogram? Why do some people have immense pain, but others will not have pain while wearing away their dentition? Risk Assessment, Perio: why & what we should know for case planning? Learning to diagnose a problem with occlusion. What things we should have for the case. When we only have the casts without the photos, how do we proceed? Photos are needed in repose/full smile cases. Full face photos give us technicians an extra piece of information. What can we do with that though? With a diagnostic wax up, we are making the anteriors back to what we see on the cast. With photos we can now see a length that would be better suited for our patient and their facial features

As we work out the new smile we become aware of the envelope of function to protect the new smile. With our help using diagnostic wax ups of the occlusion, we can create long term results with our restorations. I personally cannot wait for the Implants & Removable Course next week to see how this ties together. Thank you for reading, I look forward to bringing you, your practice, and most importantly your patients the best!
