A Look into Guided Surgeries
We are blessed to live in a day of age where we have the dental technology we do. Thanks to that technology, our oral hygiene has been better than ever, But why the rise of implants then? Just because we have great technology within the dental field doesn’t mean that everyone’s oral health is perfect. That issue can vary depending on which part of the country you live in.
There is a list of reasons why someone may need a dental implant. They may have periodontal disease or gum tissue resorption, leading to bone loss over time. It could also very well be from a failed implant from years prior. We could go on with different examples, but with the technology we have today, we can create a precise treatment plan that will guarantee long-term success for your patients wanting dental implants.
With guided dental surgeries for both single or multiple tooth surgeries, we can guarantee accurate placement of the implants because there is no guesswork with guided surgeries. We verify the implant sights in our digital CAD-CAM software using your CBTC scans to complete the procedure faster, allowing patients to start the healing process sooner. Our CAD-CAM technology allows you, the dentist, to have a complete picture of the patient’s mouth and accurately pick the exact placement of their dental implants. We can make sure we are drilling into enough bone by verifying the thickness in the placement site. There are some drawbacks to dental implants too. For instance, the patient may need bone grafting for a successful surgery. They may also need tissue grafting. Every surgical procedure is different, but we can know if additional grafting is required to support the implant before placement with advanced imaging technology.
We can fabricate several different surgical guides depending on what is needed for that case. Whether it is a regular surgical guide with one or multiple surgical sites, bone reduction guides, bone supported guides, or stackable guides with an immediate temporary; so, your patient is going home with teeth on the day of surgery.
